My parents and I have been looking for a place with really good Thai and sushi to order in and I think we have found it here. To begin, all the employees are extremely nice and friendly. Over the phone, in person, every encounter was great. The food was amazing! We ordered a lot (seafood combination, edamame, salad, 3 sushi rolls, stir fry lo mein, & the basil noodle dish) of course it's somewhat pricey because it's Thai/Sushi but it was no more expensive than the average Thai food restaurant. He said to pick it up in 30 minutes which is actually really quick and it was ready right when I got there so I was more than pleased. We ordered in so we didn't actually eat there but I went inside to pick the food up and it's very clean! There is seating at the sushi bar and actual tables with some subtle music but I would definitely dine in if I chose to sometime. All in all I can't say enough great things about this place, and I'll be excited for the next time we order!

While not my #1 favorite Thai place in Pinellas county, they run a tight ship and put out excellent food here. Various errands left me hungry and I came in on a lonely, rainy night to dine alone. The service was top-notch. They treated me like a king! My favorite Thai dish is "Amazing Peanut Sauce Curry." It is not on the menu here, or I would have likely given this place a full 5-stars. However, I ordered the "Peanut Honey stir fry with chicken" entree and it was very, very good. Totally unique to anything I've ever had at any Thai place! I find myself craving it even as I type this... So I plan to come back. I may even have to consider what is my favorite Thai entree now? While I've been in love with "Amazing Peanut Curry" for over a decade, Thai Orchid's "Peanut Honey" may perhaps be even better? I do plan to visit again soon and may have to update my Yelp rating here...

I come here with lunch with my coworkers. Sushi's only available for dinner, so my review is based on solely Thai food. Thai Orchid's service is very good, as the waiters/waitresses do a nice job of checking up on their patrons. I've been there probably 10 times and every time, we are treated well there. The food is pretty good. The panang and red curry dishes taste good and the portions are not bad for a lunch special. The prices are very reasonable, as you get a crab rangoon, chicken rice soup, with your lunch special item for around 7 or 8 bucks. The restaurant is adequately decorated and feels 'clean'.

First, the wine and beer selection is very small (Chardonnay, merlot, white Zin, Chablis, plum wine and sake). I like a dry Riesling with Asian food. So I just drank water. The sushi list is large on the raw options and small on the cooked roll options. I had the Mexican roll which was shrimp tempura, avocado, mayo, smelt roe. It was very good. I had the pad Thai and it was very good. Large portion so I had leftovers. A little chintzy with the shrimp, only two pieces. Nice atmosphere. Quiet as I was the only person there until another couple came in. Music not too loud. I could hear the other couples whole conversation. Overall, a good place but I will look around for other Thai options with a larger wine list and sushi list.

This place is delicious. They actually make their food really spicy, which I like. Once they even made it too spicy for me, I didn't want to send it back, but they could tell I was having a hard time eating it and they gladly made me a new dish.

I used to come here all the time. So frequently that my husband at the time and I were "regulars". The people working there were really awesome and it was the best Thai restaurant in the area. This was in the 90s. I recently took my now teenage daughter to the restaurant her dad and I used to frequent, and it was a let down. The food is mediocre, the service is lacking and it just want the same. I know, years have passed. Maybe I shouldn't expect the same experience. Perhaps they have different owners. I'm not sure. The last time we went, the waitress was really rude. I find the food to be average. I guess if you want your Thai fix and nothing else is open, this place is for you. Kinda sad.

The sushi is amazing! I love Mr. Toyota! The fresh roll sushi is the best. I love this place. They remember your name. If you order a dragon roll, he makes it look like a dragon!

We come here often and love both the service and the food. We usually order beef salad and sushi rolls of various kinds. All have been good and fresh. I have lived in Las Vegas, NY, Dallas and most recently St. Pete. The sushi is good and fresh. We enjoy the Mexican rolls, the dragon rolls and the white tuna rolls. All have been very good. I also have enjoyed the Pad Thai, cashew chicken and curry dishes. While I think they good give you a few more pieces of chicken, shrimp, steak in their dishes.. the flavor is always good.

Great ambiance, friendly waitstaff, flavorful food, and great lunch specials. What's not to like? Forget the rest of the menu and just go for the Thai food.

Came here because Lanna thai restaurant down the street didn't open until 5 pm and I was super hungry. Let's just be nice and say the restaurant was cozy but the food was mediocre. Everything that was ordered, I've had a hundred times better in California...but comparing it to other thai restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, it alright. -The appetizer crab rangoon was pretty good, they add a touch of curry powder in the filling to give it a lot of flavor and accompany it with a sweet chili sauce. -The pad se ew was disappointing and the sauce was awkward because it was watered down. -The tofu pad thai was yummy, but garnished with a giant handful of peanuts...mixed in... -rad na noodles had a lot of sauce, but not much flavor to it Overall, I would skip coming here again. It's location in between a bbq restaurant and a mexican mini supermarket made me feel sick from the smells right after eating here...

Best sushi in St. Pete! Each time I eat here I'm reminded how I should never eat sushi anywhere else. I live in downtown st Pete where you can't turn a corner without running into a sushi place so the fact that I'm willing to drive to Kenneth city(outer banks at that!) says a lot. The rice is perfect and fresh. I think that's their secret. Perfectly cooked rice and super fresh ingredients. Each of their soups have such strong flavors coming thru that I haven't found at any Asian/Thai/sushi place I've tried since moving here four years ago. Thai food menu is large and I haven't tried something here that I didn't love. Each time I go in I overhear regular customers seated near me which is a sign of a truly great restaurant.

I visited this place twice for lunch. First got the garlic pepper beef and then panang curry. Wish I could say it was better the second time around. In both cases the food was bland and ingredients weren't fresh. Definitely better options out there...

Five star Thai and three star Sushi makes for a 4-star review. This is one of the very best Thai restaurants in the area and I can't recommend them highly enough. Unfortunately, there are better sushi restaurants, so if you're looking for sushi, I'd keep going. However, the sushi is good enough that if a compromise dinner plan is needed (someone won't eat sushi but they will eat Thai), then this place might just fit the bill. The service is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food is very good overall.

My girlfriend and I are regulars here....we seat ourselves at "our" table and they pretty much know our order but are always nice enough to ask if we'd like something different. We always order either the pad thai or the panang curry with chicken (with no broccoli). The staff is friendly, attentive, and are just "good people". The bananas with coconut ice cream is SO good! If I can ever stop ordering the panang chicken I'll try their sushi as it looks really good. :) For now I'm pretty hooked on the panang though. ha!

Oh, man.. This place is awesome. I am a fan of Oriental food and this place shows off some amazingly good Thai cuisine. The outside of the business does not reflect how nice it is inside. It's one part of a strip of small businesses that all seem to be "hole in the wall" kind of places. Once you step in, though, you're immediately greeted by a very kind wait staff that ask you to sit anywhere you'd like. You'll notice how small the place is, but the style and decor makes this an authentic Thai experience; it's a very quaint and comfy place to be. *My review of the food is based solely on the lunch specials* Being a 19 year old student, working at a dead end job, taking my mother out to Thai Orchid for a nice lunch doesn't have me feeling like I just burned a hole through my wallet, once the bill comes. Seriously, the lunch specials are offered at a very reasonable low price! The kind waiter brings us water in nice stemmed glasses and comes back a bit later to take our order. My mother orders shrimp Pad Thai and I order the Pa-Nang curry and a Thai iced tea. The waiter leaves and comes back momentarily with a nice cup of chicken and rice soup and a rangoon of some sort, that is served with lunch orders, for each of us. It's a nice small serving of each that is not at all filling, but keeps you content as you wait for the main course. The Thai iced tea here is really awesome. Thai iced tea isn't anything like a regular iced tea so I'd definitely recommend giving it a try, unless you're not into sweeter things. It is some kind of tea that has a layer of sweetened condensed milk on top. After I stir that baby up, I'll empty the glass in record time. Once our food is served I stare at it, just a bit, to marvel at how much of a generous portion is given. The Pa-Nang curry doesn't disappoint. It has the right amount of spice and goes so well with the chicken, vegetables, and side of rice. My mom and I always swap plates halfway through to sample the other person's stuff. The Pad Thai rocks. Can't say much else; it just rocks. Period. By the end of our meal I'm feeling good and full. The waiter drops off our checks and thanks us for choosing their place to eat at. I take a look at the cost of this wondrous meal; $19.75. This brings a smile to my face and to my wallet. In all, this place is great to meet up with or take someone for a nice cheap lunch. What you get here is amazingly authentic Thai food with a nice comfy atmosphere and kind wait staff. Give this place a shot. *To get a look at the food we ate, take a look at the photos for this place. Looks good, eh?*

Really don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but maybe my expectations were higher due to the reviews. Our experience was pretty rough. Service was poor, appetizers were never ordered and the one that we got was overcooked. We were never asked how spicy we wanted our food; everything was mild and boring. Not returning. I prefer hardees...their poop sandwich is much better!

have been here a few times....... but never for lunch....... it was great !!!!!!!....... we had a very nice soup, that came with the meal, full of substance, the appetizer was not the typical egg roll that arrives cold to your table.... this was warm and nicely presented..... I had the duck stew and i was fabulous...... will be back for lunch again..... the service could not have been nicer......

This place has the *best* Sushi period. You can go to "Blue Samurai" and all those other trendy places, but Toyota is the man. The service is great, we usually sit at the Sushi Bar so we can talk to Toyota. To me, what makes his Sushi so great, is I can walk in there and just say "I'd like something special, that's spicy" and Toyota goes to work and makes a work of art. Friends I have taken there walk away impressed, and agree the Sushi is top-notch. It's certainly not a 'Fancy" restaurant, but the inside is nice, the prices are good, and Toyota and the staff are great!

I've had thai food in from many different restaurants from around the country and this has been my favorite so far. Their Pad Thai is pretty close to being authentic and if you are a spice lover like me then you should ask your dish to be made with Thai Spicy level.

Great Thai food! The Garlic Pepper Chicken is some of the best I've had...nice and hot if you like it that way. The service is also very good.
